Botox in Kovin
Your expression stays yours, just more rested.
What is Botox
Botox is the everyday name for botulinum toxin, a medicine that aesthetic medicine uses in very small doses. It is injected with a fine needle into specific facial muscles and temporarily reduces their strength. The muscle still moves, it just no longer tightens the skin so hard that a line gets etched in.
That is why Botox is used for lines that come from facial expression: horizontal lines on the forehead, the line between the brows and the fine lines around the eyes that show when you smile. The same principle applies to the masseter, the chewing muscle that can become overworked when you clench your teeth, to the neck and to the so called lip flip, when the upper lip relaxes slightly and looks fuller.
Well done Botox does not erase your expression. The dose is adjusted to your face, so you can still raise your brows, smile and frown, just without the tired look that stays even when your face is at rest.
Who it is for
You notice that the line between your brows stays even when you are completely relaxed.
In photos your forehead looks creased, even when you are not thinking about anything.
When you smile, more fine lines appear around your eyes than you would like.
Your jaw aches in the morning, and the lower part of your face looks wider than it used to.
You want to look more rested, without anyone being able to tell what you had done.
What the appointment looks like
Consultation
At the consultation Dr Rada asks you to frown, smile and raise your brows, and watches how your own muscles work. Together you decide which areas make sense to treat and which do not.
Preparation
The skin is cleansed and disinfected. If needed, the injection points are marked so that each dose goes exactly where it should.
Treatment
The medicine is given with a very fine needle, in a few quick injections. The whole procedure takes about fifteen minutes.
Afterwards
You can go straight back to your day. For the first few hours you do not lie down or massage the treated areas, and the next day you skip the gym and the sauna.
When you see results and how long they last
You usually notice the first changes after three to five days, and the full effect shows about two weeks after the treatment. That is a good moment for a check, if one has been agreed.
On expression lines the effect most often lasts three to four months, and on the masseter often longer. The muscle regains its strength gradually, so the effect does not wear off overnight either. With regular treatments, many women notice that the time between appointments can grow longer.
Results depend on the condition of your skin.

Will I look frozen after Botox?
You should not. A frozen look comes from too high a dose or badly chosen injection points. Here we work with doses that leave movement, so your face stays expressive, just without etched lines.
Does it hurt?
The needle is very fine and the injections are quick. Most women describe the feeling as a light pinch. If you like, a cold compress can be applied before the treatment.
When can I put on makeup?
It is better to wait a few hours after the treatment, so that you do not rub the skin at the injection points. By the evening you can wear your usual makeup.
What is a lip flip?
A lip flip is a small dose of Botox in the muscle around the upper lip. The lip relaxes slightly and turns outwards, so it looks fuller without any added volume. The effect is subtle and lasts less time than on the forehead.
Can Botox help with teeth clenching?
For women who clench their teeth at night, Botox in the masseter relaxes the chewing muscle. Many notice less tension in the jaw, and over time the lower face looks softer. At the consultation we check whether this is the right approach for you.
Who should not have Botox?
Botox is not given during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with some neuromuscular conditions, or when the skin in the treatment area is inflamed. That is why Dr Rada asks about your health and the medicines you take before the treatment.
