PRP in Kovin

A treatment that starts with you.

In short

What is PRP

PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. From a small amount of your blood, a special centrifuging process separates the part rich in growth factors, which is then returned to the skin or scalp.

Because it comes from your own body, PRP brings in no foreign substances. The growth factors encourage the skin to renew itself, so over time it becomes brighter, denser and more even. In the scalp they stimulate weakened follicles, which is why PRP is also used for thinning hair.

At Nami Klinik PRP is done on the face, neck and décolletage, and for hair growth, where a hair booster can be added by arrangement. Dr Rada performs the treatment.

In the mirror

Who it is for

  • You notice your skin has become thinner and more tired, especially on the neck and décolletage.

  • Your complexion lacks glow, and fine lines are more and more noticeable.

  • Your hair has thinned or you are losing more of it than before.

  • You want a treatment that uses what your body already has.

  • You are ready for a course of treatments and a gradual, natural result.

Appointment

What the appointment looks like

  1. Consultation

We talk about your health, the medicines you take and what you would like to improve, then agree on the area and the number of treatments.

  2. Preparation

A small amount of blood is taken from a vein, as for a routine lab test, and centrifuged to separate the plasma. An anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin.

  3. Treatment

The plasma is placed into the skin or scalp with a fine needle or with microneedling. The whole appointment takes about an hour.

  4. Afterwards

Redness and small injection marks pass within a day or two. On the first day you do not wear makeup, and after a scalp treatment you wash your hair only the next day.

Results

When you see results and how long they last

The changes are gradual: the skin usually looks fresher a few weeks after the first treatment. Most often a course of three to four treatments is done, about a month apart.

For hair, the first effects, less shedding and stronger hair, are usually noticed after two to three months. After the course, the result is maintained with occasional treatments, as agreed.

Results depend on the condition of your skin.

Questions

Questions we often get

Is PRP uncomfortable?

Taking blood is like a routine lab test. On the face an anaesthetic cream is used, so most women feel only quick pricks.

How much blood is taken?

A small amount, usually one or two tubes. It takes only a few minutes.

Does PRP help with hair loss?

For many women PRP reduces shedding and strengthens existing hair. If the hair loss is sudden, it is useful to check the cause first, for example with a blood count or hormone tests.

When should PRP be avoided?

PRP is not done with blood clotting disorders, a low platelet count, an active infection, during pregnancy or with some serious illnesses. Blood thinning medicines should be mentioned at the consultation.

Can I combine PRP with other treatments?

It can be combined, for example with Dermapen 4, when the plasma is applied during microneedling. The order is agreed at the consultation.
