What are polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are natural molecules, fragments of DNA purified into a form the skin accepts well. At Nami Klinik we use Rejuran and Rejuran Healer, which are derived from salmon. They are placed into the skin at tiny points and encourage it to renew itself.
While hyaluronic acid mainly binds water, polynucleotides act as a signal for renewal. Over time the skin becomes denser, more elastic and more even, and fine lines soften. The change is gradual and feels as if your skin simply started looking better on its own.
They are especially useful around the eyes, where the skin is thinnest and where tiredness shows first. Fillers are often not a good choice there, while polynucleotides can refresh your eyes without adding any volume.

What the appointment looks like
Consultation
At the consultation you show Dr Rada what you notice when you look in the mirror. Together you choose the area and the product and agree on a course of treatments.
Preparation
The skin is cleansed and an anaesthetic cream is left on for about twenty minutes. Around the eyes we work especially gently.
Treatment
The product is placed with a very fine needle at many tiny points. The treatment takes about half an hour.
Afterwards
Small bumps at the injection points show for one to three days, and sometimes a small bruise. On the first day you do not wear makeup or rub your skin.
Results
When you see results and how long they last
The usual course is three treatments two to four weeks apart. The first changes show after the second treatment, and the most a month after the last one, once the skin has finished renewing.
The effect lasts roughly six to nine months. For maintenance, one treatment a few times a year is usually enough, depending on your skin.

Questions we often get
Do polynucleotides help with dark circles?
With dark shadows and thin skin under the eyes they often give a good result, because the skin becomes denser and less translucent. With deep hollows that come from the structure of the face, the consultation shows what makes sense.
What is the difference between Rejuran and Rejuran Healer?
Both are polynucleotides from the same manufacturer. They differ in purpose and in how they are applied, so at the consultation Dr Rada suggests the one that suits your skin and the area.
How long do the marks last after the treatment?
Small bumps most often show for one to three days, and around the eyes sometimes longer. So it is a good idea to book the treatment when you have no important event in the following days.
Can I combine polynucleotides with Profhilo?
Yes, because they work in different ways. A common combination is Profhilo for the cheeks and polynucleotides around the eyes. The order is agreed at the consultation.
What if I am allergic to fish?
Because the product is derived from salmon, a fish allergy is always checked before the treatment. That is why it matters that you mention everything you know about your allergies at the consultation.
When can I wear makeup again?
The next day, once the small bumps have settled. Until then your skin should rest, without rubbing and without strong products.
