Will anyone notice I had something done?

If a treatment is well judged, no one sees that you had something done; they see that you look rested. People usually notice a change but cannot name it: they ask whether you have been on holiday or changed your hairstyle.

Why some treatments show

When we say something “shows”, we usually mean too much: a frozen forehead that does not move when you talk, lips that arrive before the person, cheekbones that change the shape of the face. That is not a feature of the treatment itself, but of the amount and the plan. The same product in a smaller dose and in the right place gives a completely different impression.

How this is avoided in practice

Botox is dosed so that the muscle keeps working. You still raise your brows, smile and frown; the line just does not etch in as deeply. The full effect shows about two weeks after the treatment, and only then do we assess whether anything needs adding. It is better to add a little than to have a face that looks frozen.

Fillers are placed slowly and in small amounts, while symmetry is checked all the time. The aim is to restore fullness where the face loses it over the years, not to create a new shape. When needed, the work is done in two smaller steps instead of one big one.

Skin quality treatments, such as Profhilo, skin boosters and polynucleotides, by their nature do not show as a change of shape. They change how your skin looks and feels under your fingertips, so the result is a fresher complexion, not a new face.

What about the days after the treatment

For the first few hours to a few days, signs of the treatment itself may show: small bumps at the injection points, mild redness or swelling, sometimes a small bruise. These pass on their own. If it matters to you that no one notices even that, book the treatment a few days before an important event, not the day before.

What you can ask for at the consultation

Say openly what matters to you. If you do not want anything to be noticed, that is completely fine and the plan is made accordingly. You can say what bothers you when you look in the mirror, and also what you do not want to change. That second list is often the more important one.

It also helps to bring a photo in which you like how you look, for example from a few years ago. Not so that you look like that again, but so we can see what “rested” means for you. That way the plan starts from your face, not from someone else’s.

Results depend on the condition of your skin.

Book a consultation and plan with Dr Rada a treatment no one will notice, except in how you look.
